Vascular-Interventional Radiology

TIR_logo

All members of our interventional team are board certified physicians performing procedures at Baylor University Medical Center. Each has one or more areas of special interest and expertise, including: non-surgical aneurysm repair, angioplasty, stent placement, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, fibroid embolization, infertility, liver disease/tumors, and vascular access.

We use minimally invasive, imaging guided techniques that are often an alternative to conventional surgery. A wide variety of conditions are diagnosed and treated by using small catheters (tubes) or other devices guided by x-ray, ultrasound, or computed tomography imaging. Procedures performed in this manner are generally less costly and less traumatic to the patient than surgery. These procedures require smaller incisions, shorter (or no) hospital stays, and less pain. This method of patient care has been described as “surgery of the 21st century.”
