Musculoskeletal IMAGING ARA prides itself in education and research. In fact, many of the nation’s best radiologists have received their medical education through ARA, a fact we are very pleased about. For years, ARA has trained Radiology residents and fellows at Baylor University Medical Center. ARA has four fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiologists who have trained with the world’s leading experts in bone and joint imaging. Plus, we have five MR fellowship-trained radiologists who also participate in musculoskeletal imaging. Subspecialty expertise is available in a wide variety of orthopedic and rheumatologic imaging areas including: - Sports medicine - Trauma - Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors - Metabolic bone disease - Gamut of arthridities A large percentage of our caseload involves sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, ankle, hip, elbow, and wrist. ARA’s musculoskeletal practice utilizes all radiologic modalities, with particular expertise in MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and MRI arthrography (MRI performed after a joint is injected with contrast). Our musculoskeletal section has provided care to many local and regional professional organizations including: - Dallas Cowboys football team - Dallas Stars hockey team - Dallas Desperados arena football team - Professional rodeo circuits All locations practice musculoskeletal imaging and several offer special procedures including MRI and computed tomography (CT), arthrography, diagnostic joint aspirations, therapeutic joint injections, and bone tumor biopsies. ARA also has a unique teleradiology service, where exams are electronically shipped over the Internet to our state-of-the-art Electronic Reading Room for subspecialty level interpretation. In keeping up with current medical trends, knowledge and the sharing of ideas, several multidisciplinary conferences are held each month, where our musculoskeletal radiologists coordinate patient care and consult with regional orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, oncologists, and pathologists. Our section has published multiple journal articles and book chapters, and performs peer-review for the American Journal of Roentgenology. ARA. Expand your vision. |
