Oncological IMAGING A successful oncologic imaging practice knows its strengths. At ARA, ours is diversity. We cover all organ systems and provide support to numerous medical and surgical oncology practices. This includes several statewide offices of Texas Oncology, P.A; Oncologic imaging is performed at all locations and includes reading off-site exams using ARA’s web-based PACS system. It’s quick, effective and smart. Our clinical works includes studies for primary diagnosis and staging, as well as follow up exams to assess tumor stability and treatment efficacy. While our list of qualifications is long and our commitment to you, our customer, is deep, here’s a brief rundown of our oncologic imaging. - All ARA radiologists participate in the oncologic imaging practice, according to their subspecialty expertise, ensuring you the best radiologist for your particular case. - Many ARA members perform several imaging modalities, providing a one-stop consultative service to referring physicians. - ARA’s oncologic imaging practice uses all radiology-based modalities from the most sophisticated such as: - Full-field digital mammography - Computer aided detection (CAD) - Breast MRI - Sentinel node biopsy-guidance - CT colonography – virtual colonoscopy– performed on state- of-the-art multi-detector CT systems with sophisticated image processing software - PET/CT (one of the highest volume practices in the country) - MR spectroscopy of central nervous system tumors, and imaging guidance for surgical and radiation therapy of tumors. Our new CyberKnife radiation therapy procedure allows us to place fiducial markers around tumors through the body. It’s one more way ARA goes beyond imaging to treat tumors using catheter-directed chemoembolization, intra-arterial chemotherapy and radiofrequency ablation. Another key area of oncologic imaging is biopsy service. We perform many image-guided needle biopsies of masses in these areas: - Head and neck - Breast - Lung - Abdomen - Pelvis - Musculoskeletal system And, of course, all of these services have follow-up evaluations. We feel connection is key – whether it’s through the Internet or personal contact, we’re always available for you. At ARA, we share our oncologic imaging knowledge in various educational settings. And, because we have our own Fellowship program, we also lecturing to our own residents and fellows. We participate in oncology-related research, including specialized fields such as liver tumors studies and chemotherapy. We monitor everything down to the last detail.
