Radiology Residency
About 45 years ago, we knew we wanted to be the best in radiology. That meant we needed to develop our own residency program. The American Radiology Associates, PA serves as a teaching faculty for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Aside from being considered one of highest competitive radiology training programs, we have more than 50 clinical faculty in ARA, with sub specialized expertise in all areas of radiology practice.

Just A Few Of Our Resident Facts:
· Our trainees consistently score in the top of the country on written and clinical examinations.
· We currently train 28 residents and 9 fellows at any one time.
· We perform more than 475,000 a year and radiology residents and fellows participate in a large percentage of these cases.
· Our trainees have exceptional exposure to both a high quality and a high quantity of material to learn from.
· Our patients have an exceptional balance of tertiary referral, private insurance, indigent care, and transplant-related services.

We have two distinct learning opportunities for future residents in our program. First, we have an impressive lecture curriculum and a clinical elective on the business of radiology. This series occurs year round and gives graduates the skills to be leaders in clinical radiology practices.

Second, we have a one-month rotation in the department of radiology during the fifth year. In this rotation, residents spend time learning the technical quality assurance aspects of radiology in MRI, nuclear medicine, x-ray and fluoroscopy, interventional radiology and, mammography. Side-by-side experience with radiology techs gives trainees the hands-on experience to better understand technical expertise and interpretation. Other electives include high-risk obstetric ultrasound, cancer imaging, outpatient radiology, PET imaging, musculoskeletal radiology and, business of radiology.

Commitment fosters creative and intellectual enlightenment. Therefore, we also provide scholarly opportunities like multidisciplinary, intra, or interdepartmental conferences, as well as case report presentations and involvement in departmental continuous quality improvement teams. Just one more way we’re expanding minds. And visions.
