Lecture series While all lecture series’ offer knowledge, the purpose of the ARA lecture series is to identify the non-clinical professional development needs of radiology residents as well as create relevant educational offerings. Our goal is that each participant gains the knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate the level of professionalism and leadership required for effective performance in today’s practice settings. ACMPE Performance Domain Lecture Topics Financial Management - Compiling, interpreting and communicating financial information to various audiences, including physicians/shareholders and staff in written and verbal forms for education and decision making. - Projecting practice revenue and related expenses and developing budget models to guide practice activities. - Calculating business ratios and benchmarks to keep the practice competitive. - Basic accounting principals and applications in the medical practice.Human Resource Management - Designing recruitment/selection processes to ensure new personnel match practice position needs and staffing/strategic plans. - Physician recruiting and interviewing strategies.Planning and Marketing - Analyzing/interpreting market research data to help guide strategic planning for the medical practice. - Facilitating ongoing monitoring of business and marketing plans and making appropriate adjustments in line with medical industry dynamics. - Involving physicians in strategic / operational planning, facilities design and clinical pathway mapping to meet the needs and benefit the entire organization.Information Management - Assessing short-term / long-term information technology (IT) needs of a medical practice, developing RFI/RFP to ensure comprehensive responses from vendors, and evaluating vendor proposals. - Communicating to physicians and staff the need to maintain IT security to ensure accountability, confidentiality, and integrity of systems.
